Lexington Select Board approves trail easement, liquor license fix ahead of Town Meeting

LEXINGTON — April 7, 2025 — Lexington Select Board clears liquor license correction, trail easement, and debates zoning ahead of Town Meeting. The four-member board, chaired by Doug Lucenti, voted unanimously Monday to approve revised disclosure paperwork for Park Restaurant Group Lex LLC — doing business as Post 1917 at 27 Waltham Street — after the state Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission flagged missing loan-to-ownership disclosures in the original application. The board also unanimously accepted a public pedestrian easement for Fairland Commons, a 16-unit balanced housing development at 15 and 17 Fairland Street and 185 Lincoln Street, fulfilling a condition attached to a 2019 Planning Board special permit. On Article 34 at Annual Town Meeting — which would add screening, raise street setbacks from five to 20 feet, and set a minimum commercial floor height in the mixed-use overlay district — Lucenti said he would vote yes while Pato, Sandin, and Kumar all declined to commit. Lucenti also flagged that the town moderator has accepted a resident's notice to seek reconsideration of Article 30, which would raise the inclusionary housing requirement from 15 percent to 17.6 percent.
