Lexington Opens Applications for Fall 2026 Civic Academy

DATELINE — LEXINGTON Lexington is inviting residents to apply for its annual Civic Academy this fall, a behind-the-scenes look at how town government runs, even as officials confirmed that new fees for special-collection waste items take effect next month.

TOWN HALL The Town Manager's Office is now accepting registrations for the 2026 Civic Academy, a program that lets residents go behind the scenes of Lexington's municipal government. The town has not yet posted a registration deadline for the fall session.

Separately, the town confirmed that starting September 1, 2026, residents will be responsible for the cost of disposing of certain waste items that are not accepted as regular trash, per Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection waste disposal bans.
