Lexington Reports Phone Outage At Police, Fire, Public Service Building
LEXINGTON — Non-emergency phone lines went down at Lexington's Public Service Building, Fire Department and Police Department, town officials said in an urgent alert posted to the town website. Residents needing routine assistance from those departments were told to use alternate contact methods, though 911 remained available for emergencies.
TOWN HALL
The town's website carried an "Urgent Update" late in the coverage window flagging a non-emergency phone line outage affecting the Public Service Building, the Fire Department and the Police Department. No timeline for restoration was given, and residents were directed to a separate page for outage details and alternate ways to reach the departments for non-emergency matters.
Separately, the town reminded residents that new fees for special collection waste items, those not accepted as regular trash under MassDEP's waste disposal bans, take effect Sept. 1.
