Lexington Rolls Out New Ballot Colors, First Energy Advocate

LEXINGTON -- The Secretary of the Commonwealth's office has instituted new ballot colors for the September 1 State Primary, and Lexington introduced its first-ever Energy Advocate, Yahan Hua, as the town also flagged a home swim meet makeup date and a heavy rain forecast moving through the region.

TOWN HALL

The town's News Flash feed announced that new ballot colors will take effect for the September 1, 2026, State Primary Election, per direction from the Secretary of the Commonwealth's office. The change is procedural but voters should expect a different look at the polls than in past cycles.

Separately, the town introduced Yahan Hua as Lexington's new Energy Advocate, a role aimed at helping residents navigate energy programs and efficiency resources. The Town Pool also announced a home swim meet makeup date for August 5, a scheduling note for families involved in the summer swim program.
