DATELINE — LEXINGTON A Lexington woman faces federal wire fraud charges in an alleged $10 million Ponzi scheme that authorities say burned roughly 200 investors, Townhall reported Thursday. The news broke the same day Town Hall raised the community's West Nile virus risk level and announced new fees for special-collection waste disposal.
TOWN HALL The Massachusetts Department of Public Health raised Lexington's West Nile virus risk level to moderate on July 24 after detecting the virus in neighboring communities, according to the town's News Flash. Officials are directing residents to the town's mosquito-borne illness guidance as the summer season continues.
Town Hall also announced that, starting September 1, 2026, residents will be responsible for the cost of disposing of certain special-collection waste items that fall outside standard trash pickup, in compliance with MassDEP's statewide waste disposal bans.
