Select Board · Meeting of September 17, 2026
Lexington Select Board opens a Nov. 1 special town meeting warrant amid AV glitches. The board unanimously voted to open special town meeting 2026-1, setting a September 25 deadline for citizens' petitions and a November 1, 2026, opening session, while deferring substantive warrant debate to its September 28 meeting. Member Mark Sandeen reported the Affordable Housing Trust signed its first area-median-income buy-down term sheet this week for three homes at 60 percent AMI, and that roughly 70 residents attended a two-hour town meeting on Adams Street intersection redesigns.
Chair Joseph Pato pushed through an amended Zoning Board of Appeals charge clarifying that "substantial real estate holdings" excludes a member's principal residence, and the board authorized final edits to the fiscal 2026 annual report, trimming toward roughly 3,800 words. Member Douglas Lucente reported on a self-funded sister-city delegation to Antony, France: "we all pay our own way to go."
