Conservation Commission · Meeting of October 20, 2026
Lexington's Conservation Commission closed a months-long hearing on a 114 Wood Street multi-family project and split its ruling on a 21 Valleyfield Street driveway. Commissioners voted 6-0, with Tom Olivier abstaining, to close the Wood Street hearing after engineer Rich Kirby of LEC Environmental described a conservation restriction and vernal-pool buffer fencing requested by Minuteman National Historical Park's Margie Brown. Abutter Lorraine Miller told the board the development sits roughly 82 feet from her Amherst Street home and "we've never gotten any answers," citing flooding and lost privacy.
Separately, the commission voted 7-0 to issue a state-law order of conditions for a driveway and house rebuild at 21 Valleyfield Street but voted 7-0 to deny the same project's local order, finding the driveway failed buffer-zone standards under bylaw sections 5.2 and 5.3. The panel also issued orders of conditions for 17 Stedman Road and 127 North Street and continued seven other hearings to November 10.
