Lexington Little League crowns five division champions as Town Hall applauds a packed World Cup watch party.

LEXINGTON -- No Lexington High School athletic contests were scheduled during the week of July 6-12, according to ArbiterLive.

TOWN -- The Recreation & Community Programs Department says summer program registration remains open. The department also flagged that the Town Pool is scheduled to host home swim meets on July 1 and July 22, with the Lap and Dive Pools closing from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. on those dates.

YOUTH LEAGUES -- Lexington Little League's website lists five newly crowned 2026 division champions: the Padres (Majors Baseball), the Cubs (Softball Seniors), the River Cats (AAA), the Reds (Majors) and the Mud Hens (AA Baseball). The league's site also shows a full slate of games on tap the following week, including Lexington's 9U, 10U, 11U and 12U squads facing Chelmsford, Brookline, Andover and other opponents.

Lexington United Soccer Club's news feed highlighted "Lexington World Cup Watch Parties" among its recent posts, alongside open registration for its K-2 Soccer Saturdays, 3rd-8th grade travel program and other fall offerings.

COMMUNITY -- At the July 6 Select Board meeting, Vice Chair Vanita Kumar publicly congratulated the town's Economic Development Office and the Lexington Chamber of Commerce "for the idea of hosting the Soccer Watch Party, and more importantly, for the excellent way it was executed," telling colleagues that "our residents loved it" and that "the bar has been set high" for future summer events. Board members noted the enthusiasm has already prompted talk of a similar watch party for next year's Women's World Cup.
