Lexington Little League wraps up 2026 spring championships as the new high school building project moves toward a July 6 construction start.

LEXINGTON -- Lexington Little League closed out its 2026 spring season with five division champions. The Padres claimed the Majors Baseball title, the Reds took the Majors Championship, the River Cats won the AAA Championship, the Mud Hens captured the AA Baseball title, and the Cubs won the Softball Seniors Championship, according to the league's website.

TOWN -- The Lexington Recreation & Community Programs department noted that the Center Track & Field will be closed June 30 through July 5. Summer program registration is ongoing. A ribbon-cutting for a new Center Recreation Playground replacement is also pending, with a date to be determined, per the department's website.

YOUTH LEAGUES -- Lexington United Soccer Club is accepting fall 2026 registrations across multiple programs, including K-2 Soccer Saturdays, 3rd–8th Grade Travel, and the 3rd & 4th Grade In-Town League, according to the LUSC website. The K-5 Friday Clinics program is currently closed. Upcoming Little League intertown games are scheduled for June 29, including Melrose at Lexington 9U and Lexington 10U at Arlington.

COMMUNITY -- At the June 22 Select Board meeting, board member Doug Lucente noted that the 4th of July Carnival is scheduled for July 1–5, with fireworks on July 2 at 9:30 p.m. Lucente also thanked economic development staff and the Lexington Chamber of Commerce for soccer World Cup watch parties held at the Visitor Center Lawn.
