LEXINGTON — The Lexington Affordable Housing Trust reviewed roughly $14.1 million in prospective Lexington Housing Authority funding requests and about $3.5 million in anticipated LexHAB asks ahead of this fall's Community Preservation Committee application. Housing Authority Executive Director Kayleen Foley outlined requests covering North Street development, Wood Street and a Countryside elderly-housing repositioning, while trustee Bill Erickson said the authority's 2028 construction timeline "seems to me to be more aggressive than is reasonable." Trustees also voted unanimously to extend the $100,000 pilot rental assistance program's application deadline to November 1 and to approve landlord and tenant participation agreements with Metro West Collaborative Development. A dispute emerged over legal fees trustees said had been charged without prior approval, including charges tied to the trust's Vine Street property; Erickson said "people need to come to us before spending our money," and trustee Mark Sandin said he would raise the matter with the town manager.
The trust closed by voting unanimously to enter executive session on MBTA multifamily development buy-downs.
